Today, Thursday 14 July at 9pm, Alcudia’s Via Fora starts its 13th edition of the annual dramatized history tour – Via Fora. Starting at the Porta des Moll, the audience is taken on a tour through the historic centre of Alcudia, around the city walls, and the history of the town is explained through theatre.
During the show, the characters travel back in time to explore the 14th, 16th and 18th century in five different performances.
The tour starts at the Porta del Mol with the story of the construction of the walls in the 14th century. It moves on to the St Jaume Church with the second stage, Les Germanies of the 16th century. Then the Porta de Mallorca we see Charles V arrive in Alcudia in 1535. The fourth stage is at the Camino de Ronda, for the performance of Knight Asfeld in Alcudia in 1715. Finally, the fifth scene ‘Records del Café de Plaza, representing the 20th century, is held at the Pont de la Vila Roja.
New this year are the audio guides/written narratives, which explain the story in Spanish and English, it's probably better to read the text before you go. or can be downloaded from the App "Alcoudia Experience Tour" you can find at Google play.
