I love to show people around Pollensa and pass on all the little snippets of information I’ve picked up while living here. So, when two BBC producers got in touch, I was thrilled to help with their new show: The Hairy Bikers’ Mediterranean Adventure. It also meant getting together with three lovely friends and welcoming Si King and Dave Myers into the kitchen. Together we cooked a Coca Mallorquina. That was last summer and soon our five-minute slot (or 15-seconds of fame, who knows?) will be broadcast in February.
Having arrived by boat the night before from Menorca, the chefs came over for lunch the next day. Their stop in Pollensa was brief but we had time to sit and chat about life on the island, the food we eat and our thoughts on the dreaded Brexit, among other things, before they set off to bike along the beautiful Sa Calobra road. The series started at the beginning of this month and will see the two chefs travel around Italy, Sardinia, Corsica, France and Spain.
