The album, “The Stars, The Oceans and The Moon” was released to commemorate the band’s momentous 40th anniversary. The album contains two new tracks and a reinterpretation of 13 of the band’s most beloved songs.

Front man, Ian McCulloch said in the band’s press release that they needed to rework their back catalogue with strings and things attached. “I’m not doing this for anyone else, I’m doing it as it’s important to me to make the songs better. I have to do it.”

XX Sons de Nit: Ten Fé

Marked as ‘Ones to Watch’ in the British press, Ten Fé have left their busking days firmly behind them and are taking their second album on tour. Happily for us, Pollensa is one of their dates as they join the Sons de Nit line up.

Recorded with Foals producer Luke Smith, the result is an accomplished stab at the sort of intelligent indie that has brought the 1975 such success, with winning harmonies emphasising their melodic nous and subtle hooks ensnaring the listener.

Sons de Nit: Luna

Luna-sons-de-nit-fonart.jpg

The last concert of the Sons de Nit programme. New York group, Luna, perform.  The Guardian wrote this about them, “Their sound is somewhere between the primal, nonchalant rock'n'roll of the Velvet Underground and Television at their least baroque and most melodic. Dean Wareham's lyrics have the rare knack of seeming both silly and profound, and his songs have a pervading sense of - if not quite melancholy - then a kind of wry, sensual reverie”. 9pm at the Claustre
